Danijela Križanec-Beganović, Senior Curator
Danijela Križanec-Beganović, Senior Curator of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb, graduated in Ethnology and Turkology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She has been working at the Ethnographic Museum since 2009. Before that, she worked at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a Curator and Head of the Collection of Traditional Medicine and the Collection of Religious Objects (2007 – 2009). She is the Head of the Collection of Objects Related to Customs and Beliefs, the Collection of Easter Eggs and the Collection of Christmas Nativity Scenes, and the co-head of the Collection of Greeting Cards and Postcards.
She is the author, collaborator and curator of several exhibitions, as well as the author of catalogues, and professional, scientific and popular articles. From 2020, she holds the position of registrar for ethnographic museums and collections of the Republic of Croatia. She is a member of the Croatian Ethnological Society.
Her areas of interest are primarily the collections related to Christmas ornaments and nativity scenes, beliefs, as well as traditional medicine and medical anthropology.
