Continuing the long-standing tradition started in 1934 with the edition of the museum collection Ethnological Research and Holdings, the annual journal of the Zagreb Ethnographic Museum – Ethnological Research – publishes professional and scientific articles in the fields of ethnography, ethnology and cultural anthropology, museology, and related social and human sciences. In the last few years, the journal is increasingly focused on specific topics related to the work of museums in contemporary society.
The articles of domestic and foreign authors are published, entirely in bilingual form. All scientific and professional articles are reviewed and categorized according to UNESCO guidelines (PGI – 83/WS/10, Paris, 1983) as:
* original scientific paper
* preliminary communication
* review paper
* professional paper
* presentation at a scientific conference

The museum journal Ethnological Research can be purchased at the museum’s gift shop. The journal is available in electronic form on the portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals (Hrčak) and via links on the Museum’s website.
Publication of the journal is funded by the City Office for Culture of the City of Zagreb and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.
